Novel lignin based binders and adhesives can be produced through enzymatic polymerization. These materials can replace fossil based products often times containing formaldehyde and other toxic or harmful compounds. The presentation gives a short overview of the technology and the basic mechanism of the enzymatic polymerzation, as well as a preview of the BIOBUILD project which will employ the lignin based binders.
